Parents, pupils, staff and members of the community came together at Reach Academy Feltham on Saturday 17th November at a Community Action Day aiming to transform the school’s outside space.
Reach Academy is a new school serving pupils from 4-18. It opened in September with a Reception and Year 7 class at Bridge House, the former Job Centre on Hanworth Road.
As many as sixty people, led by the Academy’s City Year ‘Spirit Team’, worked all day on a Very Hungry Caterpillar mural, a quiet garden, digging pit and vegetable patch. The results were met with squeals of delight from the Reception pupils when they came in on Monday morning!
The Academy’s Community Liaison, Kay Stone was delighted at the turn-out. “To have so many parents coming to help; painting, digging, planting and then even more making cakes and other delicacies to feed the workers is brilliant. Today was another step on the way to building a warm, inclusive community at Reach, and it is great to have so many people involved.”
Principal Ed Vainker was also thrilled. “My son and my wife have had a brilliant day helping with the painting, and it has been great to have some of our Year 7s taking part and helping to create a beautiful environment for our pupils. I look forward to the next Community Action Day!”
Reach Academy is a new all-through school with only sixty pupils in each year and high aspirations for pupils’ achievement. It currently has a Reception and Year 7 class and is recruiting for Year 7 and Reception for next year. The school welcomes any prospective parents and students to visit. If you would like to arrange a visit please contact the school on 020 3551 9305. To apply for a place at Reach Academy simply complete the Common Application Form, available from Hounslow Civic Centre or the school itself either in person or at www.reachacademyfeltham.com.

Such a lovely review from one of our Year 11 parents written on her last day of GSCEs last week:
Reach Academy is a school in a million. The staff are amazing, thoughtful, kind, caring, equal, helpful, understanding, supportive, fun the list can go on. As parents of a child who's last day in yr11 is today :-( and a parent of a child in yr 7 I can't not say enough good things about the staff and school. Thank you to all the staff who have worked day and night in helping our children. Would recommend Reach to everyone. ... See MoreSee Less
