‘Reach Academy Feltham is a terrific example of what can be achieved by a driven, committed group of people, wanting to offer an exceptional education to all children. It brilliantly shows how existing buildings can be converted into high quality teaching spaces, which in turn will help transform the lives of local youngsters.’ (Boris Johnson)
We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, to Reach Academy on Wednesday. He brought a scrum of photographers and made Reach Academy the story of the day in the Evening Standard, London 24 and on ITV, with pictures on the Guardian and Huffington Post.
Over the course of the visit, Boris listened to Reception children reading, telling reporters that “he could not believe how well pupils could read”, made an announcement about our new building (read more here), presented awards to pupils in Year 7 and ate lunch with pupils, describing it as the “best school lunch he had ever had” and “better than Eton”.
He was impressed to learn about the progress pupils have made since the beginning of the year, and the focus in Year 7 on reading and maths. He was astonished by the work that has been done on working memory, hearing Teja recite Pi to over 80 decimal places. He issued a challenge to Year 7 to start learning poems, and promised to come back when they have. We look forward to that!
A great day at Reach – congratulations to all the pupils and staff for making it such a success.

Such a lovely review from one of our Year 11 parents written on her last day of GSCEs last week:
Reach Academy is a school in a million. The staff are amazing, thoughtful, kind, caring, equal, helpful, understanding, supportive, fun the list can go on. As parents of a child who's last day in yr11 is today :-( and a parent of a child in yr 7 I can't not say enough good things about the staff and school. Thank you to all the staff who have worked day and night in helping our children. Would recommend Reach to everyone. ... See MoreSee Less
